I was unpleasantly surprised by the level of assembly needed to put these together. I needed to call in someone to help me put it together. He is extremely good at these things and it still took him over an hour per nightstand. One of them had a broken piece off the back of the drawer so we had to liquid nail it together so the bottom of the drawer wouldn't fall out. It was difficult to find a small night stand with drawers that would fit in my smallish bedroom but I wish I would have looked around more.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend
